The Great House
of Foragers

Take with care. Leave enough for the world to continue.

The doors stand open to the market air. Bundles of herbs hang from dark rafters, baskets crowd the benches, and sunlight passes through green and blue-green panes of old botanical glass.

Come In From the Path

A house of wild knowledge

Nothing gathered is merely an ingredient.

Foragers learn the names, seasons, habits and stories of the living world. Their work begins long before the basket is filled: with observation, permission, gratitude and knowing when to leave something untouched.

The pavilion feels half shop, half herbarium and half kitchen—an arithmetic Foragers would consider perfectly reasonable. Drawers hold seeds and dried roots. Copper hooks carry gathering tools. Glass jars catch the light. Somewhere nearby, something fragrant is always steeping.

Leaf

Fresh greens, drying herbs and botanical knowledge.

Berry

Preserves, syrups, fruits and the sweetness of season.

Root

Earthy stores, tubers, bark and deep harvests.

Bloom

Flowers, fragrance, tea and delicate gathering.

Spore

Mushrooms, forest lore and careful identification.

Written above the sorting table

The Forager's Code

  1. 01

Know before you gather. A name guessed is not a name known.

  2. 02

Ask before taking. Permission begins with attention.

  3. 03

Take less than you could. Abundance is not an invitation to empty a place.

  4. 04

Waste nothing gathered. Honor continues after harvest.

The baskets are arriving

Gathered Wares

The day's gathering has not been sorted yet.

The shelves will fill slowly—with things that genuinely belong to the Foragers: teas, botanical preparations, scents, preserved harvests, gathering tools and artifacts rooted in the Realm's wild knowledge.

Canon determines commerce.

Within the House

The Aroma Gnomes

The Aroma Gnomes have not disappeared. They have simply come home. Their remarkable sensitivity to scent, smoke, resin, herb and atmosphere makes them natural specialists among the Foragers. Their old traditions remain their own—now understood as one colorful branch of a much larger House.
